Practical steps for a safer VanaChat session.

Before you start

Use VanaChat only if you are 18 or older.
Remove identifying documents, addresses, and private material from camera view.
Review camera and microphone permissions and use a device you control.

During a conversation

Do not share passwords, verification codes, payment details, or identity documents.
Assume the other person could record the screen even when recording is prohibited.
Do not send money or follow unfamiliar download and sign-in links.
Leave, block, and report when consent, identity, or safety is uncertain.

After an incident

Write down the approximate time and relevant identifiers, then report the incident without redistributing harmful content. Contact local emergency services when there is immediate danger.
